The Westwood chair is built to a fixed shape rather than filled loose like a standard bean bag, which is what lets it hold the back rather than giving way under it. A single padded bolster runs unbroken from one side, up and around the back, and down to the other, rising to forearm height along the way and enclosing the seat on three sides. The seat itself sinks into a pocket at the center, so you settle down into the chair and the raised edge comes up around you rather than sitting on top of a mound. Two padded bands stack up the back inside that bolster, a rolled top edge over a wider lower band, leaving a hollow where the lower back sits. Wide-wale corduroy runs vertical ribs across every surface, and the chair arrives vacuum-compressed with nothing to assemble.

Care Instructions

• Vacuum the corduroy with a soft brush attachment, drawing along the direction of the ribs
• Blot spills promptly with a clean dry cloth rather than rubbing into the pile
• Spot clean with a cloth dampened in mild upholstery cleaner, testing on a hidden area first
• Let the fabric dry fully before sitting on it again
• Brush the pile back into direction with a soft brush once dry
• Keep the chair out of prolonged direct sunlight to preserve the cover color
• Fluff the bolster and back by hand every few weeks to keep the foam evenly distributed
• Allow up to 72 hours after unpacking for the foam to expand fully
• Keep the zipper closed during use
• Lift rather than drag the chair across the floor when moving it
