Eight Cubes, Two Orientations

The Verse organizer is built as a grid of eight equal square cubes, two across and four high when it stands upright, four across and two high when it lies on its side. Nothing about the frame favors one direction, so the same piece works as a tall bookcase against a bedroom wall or a low console under a window with a lamp and a plant on top. Each cube opens to the 13-inch fabric bin size sold across this category, so bins purchased separately slide in flush rather than sitting proud of the opening. The back of every cube is left open instead of closed with a panel, which lets a cord pass through from a socket behind, keeps the wall color visible through the grid, and allows the unit to sit out in a room as a divider rather than flat against a wall.

Care Instructions

• Wipe the panels with a soft damp cloth and dry them right away
• Blot spills as soon as they happen so liquid does not sit along the panel edges or seams
• Avoid abrasive powders, scouring pads, bleach and household cleaners on the finish
• Keep the heavier books and bins in the lower cubes so the frame stays balanced when it stands upright
• Load the cubes evenly across the grid rather than filling one side only
• Set the unit on a level floor so the frame sits square and the cubes stay aligned
• Keep the organizer away from radiators, heat vents and long hours of direct sunlight
• Retighten the panel hardware every few months, especially after changing the unit between upright and flat
• Empty the cubes before turning the unit from upright to flat or moving it to another room
• Lift rather than drag the organizer, with a second person for the turn
