Meet Vardar - The Arms Fit Under

Arms are the reason most dining chairs stop halfway under the table, so the Vardar woven faux leather dining chairs set theirs lower than the table edge and solve it. What sits above them is all weave: wide straps crossing over and under each other across the back and the seat, wrapping around the frame rails and returning underneath so bands of sealed wood stay visible between them. Rows of dome nailheads pin the strap ends along the back, and the panel curves shallowly across the top rail rather than sitting flat. Below the seat, low stretchers tie the tapered legs together while each arm rail turns a square corner at the front and drops into the leg. These are leather strap dining chairs on a solid rubberwood frame, and as basketweave dining chairs they read handmade at close range and graphic from across the room. Best for coastal and warm minimalist dining rooms, first-home buyers and mid-size eat-in kitchens.

Woven Strap Back
1.

Woven Strap Back

Wide straps cross over and under each other in a basketweave that leaves small openings between them, the whole panel following a shallow curve across the top rail so the back gives slightly as you settle against it.

Woven Strap Seat
2.

Woven Strap Seat

The seat weave pulls tight across the frame rather than sitting on foam, giving a firm flat surface with a small amount of flex where the straps cross, and the openings let air move under you.

Low Arm Rail
3.

Low Arm Rail

The arm rails sit low, clearing a standard table edge so the chair pushes in rather than stopping short. Each rail turns a square corner at the front and drops straight down into the leg.

Solid Rubberwood Frame

Every strap wraps around the frame rails and returns underneath, leaving bands of sealed rubberwood visible between them, while rows of dome nailheads pin the strap ends along the back and the seat edge.
