A Queen Deck Over Three Walls of Storage

The Rilven loft bed is the queen size version of this metal frame, built so every side under the deck carries storage. A powder-coated steel frame lifts the platform on square posts, tall full-length guardrails enclose the deck, and a steel slat deck holds a Queen mattress with no box spring, purchased separately. Below, a four-compartment cube unit anchors one end with a desktop running off it and turning the corner along the frame. The opposite side carries an open clothes rack with a full-width hanging bar and a shelf beneath it, and the ladder climbing that end has its own shelf running alongside. The desktop sits at standard chair height, with the frame overhead making it a surface to reach into rather than sit under. The deck is rated to 350 pounds.

Care Instructions

• Wipe the steel frame with a soft damp cloth and dry it right away so water does not sit on the powder-coated surface
• Wipe the desktop, shelves and cube panels with a soft damp cloth and a mild detergent, then dry immediately
• Blot spills on the desktop as they happen rather than letting liquid sit along the panel edge
• Avoid abrasive powders, scouring pads, bleach and solvent-based cleaners on the frame and the panels
• Wipe the hanging bar with a dry cloth and keep damp clothes off it until they have dried
• Vacuum the cube compartments with a soft brush attachment rather than reaching in with a wet cloth
• Dust the slat deck and guardrails with a dry cloth, reaching between the bars rather than only across them
• Retighten every frame bolt after the first two weeks of use, then check them every few months
• Lift the frame clear of the floor when repositioning rather than dragging it
