Onega natural dining chair showing two chairs beside a dining table

Meet Onega - Where the Corners Went

Round seats went out of fashion last century, so the Onega rubberwood dining chairs bring one back and build everything else around it. The cushion is a full circle with no square front corner to catch a passing leg, and above it the back is a separate curved pad rather than a panel bolted to the frame, resting on a shaped wood rail that follows the same arc as the arms. Those arms turn inward from rounded posts and carry all the way around, while a broad plank rises at the center back to hold the rail. These are round seat dining chairs cut from solid rubberwood, and as organic modern dining chairs in a textured woven fabric they sit closer to a sculpted object than a stacked kitchen chair. As dining chairs with arms they draw back from the table rather than vanish beneath it. Best for Japandi and Scandinavian dining rooms, first-home buyers and mid-size eat-in kitchens.

Curved Back Pad

The back is a separate padded arc rather than a panel fixed to the frame, its lower edge resting in a shaped wood rail so the pad meets the lower back while the sides stay clear of the shoulders.

Round Cushioned Seat

The seat is a full circle of foam wrapped in woven fabric, its edge rolling over on every side, so there is no square front corner where a thigh would otherwise meet a hard line.

3.

Continuous Arm Rail

The arms carry just above a standard table edge, so these draw back rather than tuck under. Each one turns inward from a rounded post and travels unbroken around to the back rail.

Solid Rubberwood Frame

A broad flat plank rises at the center back to hold the arm rail from behind, meeting the rounded side posts and a low brace beneath the seat, all sealed clear so the grain stays open and visible.
