One Desk, Four Working Angles

The Narvik desk is built around a pivoting top rather than a fixed corner, so the same piece answers a different room every time it moves. Two desktop panels meet over a three-drawer cabinet, the upper one turning freely through a full circle on a hidden pivot. Closed at zero degrees the panels stack flush and the desk pulls back into a compact writing station against a wall. Turned square it locks into the L-shape that fills a corner and puts a second surface at your elbow. Opened flat it stretches 90 inches end to end, wide enough for two people to work side by side without knocking laptops. Each panel carries its own load, both held up by full-height side panels that run straight from the desktop down to the floor.

Care Instructions

• Dust the desktop with a soft dry cloth, using a lightly damp cloth for marks and drying it right away
• Blot spills as soon as they happen so liquid does not sit along the edges of the panels
• Use coasters and a desk mat to protect the surface where a laptop or a mug sits every day
• Avoid abrasive powders, scouring pads, bleach and household cleaners on the desktop
• Clear the desktop before turning the panel, and move it slowly with a hand on the corner
• Retighten the pivot hardware every few months, since a turning joint loosens faster than a fixed one
• Keep the desk away from radiators, heat vents and long hours of direct sunlight
• Wipe the drawer runners clean and clear away any grit so the drawers keep pulling smoothly
• Spread the load across both desktops rather than piling weight onto one panel
• Empty the drawers and lift rather than drag the desk when moving it
