A Long Table That Curves

The Lancelot 7-piece dining set is a rectangular table for six with the Haven chairs to go around it. What makes the table different is its two long sides, which are shaped rather than cut straight. Each side curves gently in and out along the length, and the two curves mirror each other, so from above the top reads as a shaped panel instead of a plain rectangle. The edge itself is deep, and the oak wood grain carries over it and onto the underside. Four flat black steel legs angle outward from beneath the top and narrow toward the floor. The top comes as two panels that meet across the middle and join underneath, with the curve on each side carrying straight through the join.

Care Instructions

• Wipe the tabletop with a soft damp cloth, then dry it
• Do not let water stand on the tabletop, because the board under the surface swells if moisture gets in through a chip or a cut
• Pay particular attention to the join across the middle, and dry it after wiping
• Use coasters under glasses and mats under hot dishes
• Do not use bleach, solvents or scouring pads on the tabletop
• Vacuum the chair fabric with a soft brush attachment
• Brush the faux suede in one direction with a soft dry brush
• Wipe along both sides of the corded edge, where crumbs collect
• Spot clean with a barely damp cloth and a mild upholstery cleaner, blotting rather than rubbing, and test a hidden spot first
• Wipe the metal legs with a dry or barely damp cloth, then dry them
• Tighten the chair leg bolts and the table leg hardware every few months
• Swap the six chairs around now and then so they wear at the same rate
• Lift the table and chairs instead of dragging them, and keep the foot pads clear of grit
• Keep the set out of long periods of direct sunlight, which a pale finish shows more readily than a dark one
