Meet Kernel - The Shelf That Turns Around

A deep shelf holds twice the books and gives you access to half of them. The second row goes in once and stays there, and the whole back of a bookcase turns into a place things go to be forgotten, so the Kernel rotating bookshelf spins instead. A wide turntable under the base carries the full loaded tower and brings whichever side you want around to the front, four open faces on every tier, nothing sitting behind anything else. The casters underneath lock so the base holds while the top turns, then release when the shelf needs to follow you to another room. The Kernel bookshelf is where a growing stack finally stops taking over the floor. Rotating bookshelf, 360 rotating bookcase with wheels, tall narrow bookshelf, steel bookshelf, bookshelf for small spaces. Best for renters, home offices and small bedrooms where the floor space ran out before the books did.

1.

Rotating Base Turntable

A wide steel plate sits under the bottom shelf and takes the weight of the whole loaded tower, turning it smoothly with a push on one corner so the side facing the wall swings around to face the room instead.

2.

Open Panel Faces

Every side of every tier is cut with a tall rounded opening, so books stay held upright from four directions while the inside stays visible and reachable no matter which way the shelf is turned.

Metal Bookends

Two thin steel bars cross the inside of each tier, catching books before they can lean into the middle of the shelf, which matters most on a shelf that moves rather than one that stays fixed against a wall.

Locking Caster Wheels

Four casters sit at the corners of the base, rolling the loaded shelf across a floor to a new room, then locking down with a foot so the base holds steady while the tower above it turns.
