A Shell Back Chair That Narrows

The Kali dining chairs arrive as a coordinated pair, each built on a one-piece upholstered back that tapers toward the crown and wraps forward at both sides. Where the back turns in and reaches the seat, it closes into a flat triangular panel rather than dropping straight down, so each chair reads as one continuous shell from any angle. A single seam is drawn down the outer face from the crown to the seat line, splitting the back panel into two halves. Below it the seat is padded into a rounded cushion, its front edge curved and its sides drawn in to follow the shell above. Four tapered metal legs in a walnut-tone finish splay outward from under the seat and end in protective glides, and the armless frame keeps each chair narrow at the table.

Care Instructions

• Spot-clean marks with a cloth barely dampened in mild upholstery cleaner, blotting rather than rubbing

• Avoid soaking the faux suede, and let a damp area air-dry rather than working heat over it
• Draw a soft cloth along the seam and around the triangular side panel, where crumbs and dust collect in the folded edge
