The Jorven loft bed is the twin size version of this open steel frame, built for a room where what goes under the bed changes more often than the bed does. A powder-coated steel frame lifts the deck clear of the floor on square posts, full-length guardrails enclose the perimeter of the platform, and a steel slat deck holds a Twin mattress with no box spring, purchased separately. A ladder climbs each end of the frame rather than one, so the route up works from whichever side the room leaves open. Beneath the deck, the span stays completely clear from post to post at forty inches, with no built-in desk, wardrobe or shelving to work around. The deck is rated to 350 pounds.

Care Instructions

• Wipe the steel frame with a soft damp cloth and dry it right away so water does not sit on the coating
• Avoid abrasive powders, scouring pads, bleach and solvent-based cleaners on the powder-coated finish
• Dust the slat deck and guardrails with a dry cloth, reaching between the bars rather than only across them
• Check both ladders for loose rungs every few months and tighten any that have shifted
• Retighten every frame bolt after the first two weeks of use, then check them every few months
• Touch up any chip in the coating so bare steel does not sit exposed to damp
• Keep the frame away from prolonged damp, which can work under a powder-coated finish at bolt joints over time
• Lift the frame clear of the floor when repositioning rather than dragging it
