A Low Loft Built From Solid Wood

The Ivara loft bed is the full size version of this low frame, built for a room that needs the floor back without anyone climbing to bed. A solid rubberwood frame carries thirteen slats and a reinforced centre support for a Full mattress with no box spring, purchased separately. Guardrails wrap every side of the deck at a height that clears the mattress top, and a ladder of wide flat rungs sets into one end of the frame rather than hooking over the rail. Beneath the deck, the floor stays clear from post to post at just under two and a half feet, room enough for bins, a bookcase, floor cushions or a low dresser. Nothing gets built in below, so what goes there changes as the room does. The deck is rated to 400 pounds.

Care Instructions

• Dust the frame with a dry cloth, following the grain rather than working across it
• Wipe finished surfaces with a soft damp cloth and dry immediately so water does not sit on the finish
• Avoid abrasive powders, scouring pads, bleach and solvent-based cleaners on any wood surface
• Keep the frame away from radiators, heat vents and long hours of direct sunlight, which can dry or fade the wood
• Check the slats and centre support rail every few months to make sure none has shifted out of position
• Retighten every frame bolt after the first two weeks of use, then check them every few months
• Lift the frame clear of the floor when repositioning rather than dragging it
• Keep the ladder rungs clear of clothing and bedding draped over them
