Meet Drina - Tufting Without a Button

Diamond tufting almost always comes with buttons, so the first thing to notice about the Drina diamond tufted faux leather dining chairs is that there are none. The points are pulled in and closed off from behind, leaving a grid of shadow across the back with nothing sitting proud of the surface to catch a sleeve or collect crumbs. Around it a piped seam traces the whole outline, over the top of the back, along the low wing on each side and around the front of the seat, drawing a line between the tufted face and the plain panels behind it. Below, the legs taper outward in painted metal rather than wood, each one capped where it meets the floor. These are retro modern dining chairs with a wipe-clean surface, and as compact dining chairs they take up less depth than most upholstered seats. Best for small dining rooms, apartment kitchens and home office corners.

Diamond Tufted Back
1.

Diamond Tufted Back

The leather is drawn into a diamond grid across the back, but each point is pulled in and closed from behind instead of being capped, so nothing sits proud of the surface to catch a sleeve.

Cushioned Seat
2.

Cushioned Seat

The seat is a shallow foam cushion set inside the shell, its front edge rolling over and finished with the same piped seam that carries around the rest of the outline.

Winged Side Panels
3.

Winged Side Panels

Each side of the shell rises into a low wing that stands just above the seat, framing it and holding the sitter centred rather than reaching high enough to carry an elbow.

Painted Metal Legs

Painted Metal Legs

The legs taper as they splay outward from the underside of the seat, painted through in a flat finish with a small cap closing each end where it meets the floor.
