A Low Loft Built Around the Desk

The Darsen loft bed is the full size version of this low frame, lifting the sleep deck just far enough to open the floor without putting the mattress out of reach. A powder-coated steel frame carries a slat deck for a Full mattress with no box spring, purchased separately, and perforated metal mesh panels enclose the deck on all sides. A three-step ladder climbs the end of the frame. The desk extends off one long side rather than tucking beneath the bed, its surface standing at everyday chair height on X-shaped steel legs, with LED lighting and USB ports set into the panel and a cable notch at the back edge. Beneath the sleep deck, the span stays open end to end for cube shelving, storage bins or floor seating. The deck is rated to 350 pounds.

Care Instructions

• Unplug the LED lighting and USB ports at the wall before cleaning anything on or near the desktop
• Keep cups, bottles and cleaning sprays away from the port panel, and never wipe it with a wet cloth
• Route the power cord clear of the ladder and the walkway, and do not pinch it under a frame leg
• Wipe the steel frame with a soft damp cloth and dry it right away so water does not sit on the coating
• Wipe the desktop with a soft damp cloth and a mild detergent, then dry immediately
• Blot spills on the desktop as they happen rather than letting liquid sit along the panel edge
• Avoid abrasive powders, scouring pads, bleach and solvent-based cleaners on the frame and the desktop
• Vacuum dust from the mesh guardrail panels with a soft brush attachment rather than working it into the perforations
• Dust the LED strip with a dry cloth only
• Retighten every frame bolt after the first two weeks of use, then check them every few months
