A Frameless Loveseat Built to Move

The Aven loveseat is built around two frameless foam modules that let one wall of an apartment living room change shape as often as the room does. Each module is a complete seat with its own built-in backrest and curved bolster arm, so the pair works as an oversized loveseat side by side or as two separate seats in different rooms. Inside there is no wood frame, only 32D foam stitched into rounded tufted sections and covered in a textured velvet. Webbing straps buckle the two halves together beneath an anti-slip base with silicone grip pads, which hold best on a rug. The seat is deeper and lower than a standard sofa seat, and the backrest leans away, giving the sofa the depth of a lounger for sitting cross-legged or stretching out.

Care Instructions

• Velvet looks lighter or darker depending on the viewing angle, and this shading is normal for velvet, not a defect
• Color may look slightly different from the photos depending on room lighting
• Sitting, pressing or brushing against the velvet shifts the pile and leaves shaded marks, which brush back out with a soft clothes brush stroked in one direction
• Allow up to 72 hours after unboxing for the foam to expand to full shape, patting the surfaces by hand to help it along
• Vacuum weekly with a soft brush attachment, working in the direction of the pile
• Spot clean with a damp cloth and a mild upholstery cleaner, testing a hidden area first
• Blot spills with a dry cloth right away instead of rubbing them into the pile
• Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight to limit fading of the velvet
• Avoid abrasive sponges, bleach and ammonia-based cleaners
• Check the straps under the base every few months and re-buckle them if the modules have drifted apart
• The silicone grip pads under the base hold best on a rug; on a bare hard floor, place the sofa on a rug if the modules start to shift
• Swap the two modules end for end now and then so they wear evenly
• Lift modules from the base instead of dragging them when moving
