An Extra-Long Sofa That Seats Three

The Aven 3-seater sofa is sized for the main wall of a living room and for the person who naps on it. Two arm modules, each with a built-in backrest and a curved bolster arm, sit at the ends, and a narrower armless module with its own backrest fills the middle. Straps buckle the three together over an anti-slip base, and the seat between the arms is longer than most adults are tall, so one person can lie flat with a head on one arm. Every piece is 32D foam with no wood frame inside, covered in a textured velvet stitched into rounded tufted sections. The seat is set deep and low, the backrest leans away, and the low, wide arms double as headrests.

Care Instructions

• Velvet looks lighter or darker depending on the viewing angle, and this shading is normal for velvet, not a defect
• Color may look slightly different from the photos depending on room lighting
• Sitting, pressing or brushing against the velvet shifts the pile and leaves shaded marks, which brush back out with a soft clothes brush stroked in one direction
• Allow up to 72 hours after unboxing for all three modules to expand to full shape, patting the surfaces by hand to help them along
• Vacuum weekly with a soft brush attachment, working in the direction of the pile
• Spot clean with a damp cloth and a mild upholstery cleaner, testing a hidden area first
• Blot spills with a dry cloth right away instead of rubbing them into the pile
• Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight to limit fading of the velvet
• Avoid abrasive sponges, bleach and ammonia-based cleaners
• Check the straps under the modules every few months and re-buckle them if the row has drifted apart
• The silicone grip pads under the base hold best on a rug; on a bare hard floor, place the sofa on a rug if the modules start to shift
• Swap the two arm modules end for end now and then so all three seats wear evenly
• Lift modules from the base instead of dragging them when moving
