A Gaming Chair That Unclips

The Altair gaming chair is the cat-themed version of this high-back racing seat, drawn so the cute parts come off and the chair underneath still works. Two embroidered ears clip onto the top of the headrest and pull off by hand, while a cat paw cushion in long-pile plush hangs across the lower back on an adjustable strap, its five padded toes standing out from the pad behind them. Under both sits a bucket seat with raised bolsters along the sides, a steel-reinforced backrest, and a separate headrest pillow on its own strap. The backrest tips from upright to nearly flat on a side lever and the armrests swing back with it, a footrest slides out from under the front edge and pushes away again, and a gas lift with a five-star caster base sets the seat height and moves the chair around the desk.

Care Instructions

• Wipe the PU leather with a soft damp cloth and a leather-safe cleaner, testing on a hidden area first
• Blot spills promptly with a clean dry cloth so moisture does not settle into the seams and stitching
• Vacuum the plush cushion and ear covers with a soft brush attachment on low suction
• Brush the plush in the direction of the pile with a soft garment brush, using short strokes to lift matting
• Spot-clean the plush with a barely dampened cloth, blotting rather than rubbing so the fibres are not pulled
• Air-dry the plush pieces fully before refitting them, and never wring the cushion
• Keep the plush away from hair dryers, heaters and radiators, which shrink and clump the fibres
• Keep the chair out of prolonged direct sunlight, which dries the PU leather and fades the plush
• Clear hair and grit from the caster wheels and the footrest track so both keep moving smoothly
• Return the backrest upright and retract the footrest before moving the chair
• Check and retighten the base, armrest and backrest hardware every few months
