A Loft Bed That Stacks Upward

The Ailinor loft bed is the Twin XL version of this high loft frame, built so one wall run does the work of four separate pieces. A powder-coated steel frame lifts the sleep deck clear of the floor on square posts, full-length guardrails box in the platform at both long sides and both ends, and a slat deck holds a Twin XL mattress with no box spring, purchased separately. Underneath, an L-shaped desktop runs the length of the frame and turns the corner, with an outlet and USB station set flush into the panel and an LED strip mounted beneath the deck above it. A wardrobe column with a hanging rod and an adjustable lower divider closes one end, and a staircase of wide flat treads climbs to the deck while doubling as open shelving, mounting on the left or the right. The upper deck is rated to 350 pounds.

Care Instructions

• Unplug the power station and the LED strip at the wall before cleaning anything on or near the desktop
• Keep cups, bottles and cleaning sprays away from the outlet panel, and never wipe it with a wet cloth
• Wipe the steel frame with a soft damp cloth and dry it right away so water does not sit on the powder-coated surface
• Wipe the desktop and shelf panels with a soft damp cloth and a mild detergent, then dry immediately
• Blot spills on the desktop as they happen rather than letting liquid sit along the panel edge
• Avoid abrasive powders, scouring pads, bleach and solvent-based cleaners on the frame and the panels
• Dust the LED strip with a dry cloth only, and keep the remote away from liquids
• Vacuum the wardrobe floor and wipe the hanging rod with a dry cloth to keep grit off the divider track
• Retighten every frame bolt after the first two weeks of use, then check them every few months
• Keep the frame from being dragged when repositioning, and lift it clear of the floor instead
