An L-Shaped Desk With a Hutch

The Porvoo desk is the hutch version of this corner workstation, built to take the vertical space above a desktop as well as the floor it stands on. Two wings meet at the corner, the longer reaching just under sixty nine inches and the shorter fifty eight, each finished in a walnut-tone top over a painted base. Above the shorter wing, an arched hutch carries three open shelves across two tiers with a curved opening at the centre wide enough for a monitor and a lamp beneath it. Below the tops, four drawers and one cabinet split between the two pedestals, the deepest drawer taking legal, A4 and letter folders, and a keyboard tray slides out from the corner on metal rails. Two power stations set flush into the desktop, each carrying two AC outlets, a USB port and a Type-C port on a five foot cord.

Care Instructions

• Unplug the desk at the wall before cleaning around either charging station
• Keep liquids away from the outlets, the USB and Type-C ports, and the desktop around them
• Route both power cords clear of the knee opening and the walkway so neither is caught underfoot
• Use the charging stations indoors only, and avoid connecting high-draw appliances to them
• Dust the surfaces with a soft dry cloth, then wipe with a barely damp cloth and dry immediately
• Avoid abrasive powders, scouring pads, bleach and solvent-based cleaners on any surface
• Use coasters and a desk pad under anything wet, hot or heavy that sits in one place
• Clear debris from the drawer glides and the keyboard tray rails so both keep sliding smoothly
• Keep the desk away from radiators, heat vents and long hours of direct sunlight
• Confirm the anti-tip hardware stays fastened to the wall, and check it whenever the desk is moved
• Empty the hutch shelves and close all drawers before repositioning the desk
• Check and retighten the pedestal and hutch bolts every few months
