A Barrel Back Without a Seam

The Orta dining chairs arrive as a coordinated pair, each built as one upholstered shell rather than a back and seat joined together. A slubbed woven fabric wraps the whole form, its surface flecked in two tones and matte across the curve, carrying from the top of the back around to the front of the seat with nothing stitched between. Foam fills the shell throughout, deepest across a seat cut wider than a standard dining chair. The backrest meets low against the spine and stops well short of the shoulders. Four solid rubberwood legs mount to the outside, the rear pair continuing up the back to its top edge, the front pair angling outward toward the floor.

Care Instructions

• Test any cleaner on a hidden section of the seat first, and let the fabric dry fully before use
• Blot spills as they happen rather than letting liquid settle into the curve where the back meets the seat
• Avoid soaking the upholstery, and keep the chairs out of prolonged direct sunlight to preserve the fabric across both variants
• Wipe the rubberwood legs and rear posts with a soft dry cloth, avoiding prolonged moisture
