Meet Charlton - Light Runs Down the Curve

Velvet on a flat panel gives you one tone. Wrap it over a shell that curves the whole way from the crown of the back down into the seat, and it stops behaving that way: the pile lies along the bend, catching light across the open face and dropping into a deeper shade where the plane turns away, so a single chair carries two tones at once and changes as you walk past it. The shell beneath stands taller than most, close to upright and rolled off at the crown, with one curved seam at the waist as the only line on the piece. Four tapered metal legs splay below in a light oak tone. Velvet dining chairs set of 4, one-piece shell dining chairs, upholstered dining chairs with oak-tone legs, scandinavian dining room chairs. Best for dining rooms, first-home kitchens, and living room corners where a chair does duty away from the table.

Take A Closer Look

Tall Shell Back
1.

Tall Shell Back

The back rises higher than a standard shell chair and stands close to upright, drawing in slightly at the waist before widening toward the shoulders and rolling off in a soft edge at the crown.

Directional Velvet Pile
2.

Directional Velvet Pile

Short dense fibres lie along the bend of the shell, catching light across the open face and dropping into a deeper shade where the plane turns away, so the tone shifts as you move around the chair.

Curved Waist Seam
3.

Curved Waist Seam

One stitched curve crosses the shell where the back turns forward into the seat, and it is the only line on the piece, the rest of the surface carrying through unbroken from crown to front edge.

Oak-Tone Tapered Legs
4.

Oak-Tone Tapered Legs

Four legs splay outward from beneath the shell and narrow toward the floor, each carrying a light grained oak tone over metal tubing and closing off with an anti-slip pad at the tip.
