An Executive Desk That Files

The Axiom desk is the seven-drawer version of this seventy inch executive silhouette, drawn so the paperwork stays inside the desk rather than in a cabinet beside it. Two pedestals carry six drawers between them, the lowest one on each side dropping deep enough to hang letter-size folders on a pair of steel rails, and a keyboard drawer drops down at the centre between them across a forty-two inch knee opening. Along the back of the desktop, a recessed channel holds two power outlets, two USB ports and a lidded compartment sized for a phone, a case and the small things that otherwise migrate across a desk. Brass-tone metal brackets cap every corner and edge of both pedestals, matching the bar pulls on all seven drawers, and the whole desktop measures seventy by twenty-eight inches over a black grained finish.

Care Instructions

• Unplug the desk at the wall before cleaning around the outlet channel
• Keep liquids away from the outlets, the USB ports and the desktop channel at all times
• Route the power cable clear of the knee opening and the walkway so it is not caught underfoot
• Dust the surfaces with a soft dry cloth, then wipe with a barely damp cloth and dry immediately
• Avoid abrasive powders, scouring pads, bleach and solvent-based cleaners on the finish
• Use coasters and a desk pad under anything wet, hot or heavy that sits in one place
• Wipe the brass-tone brackets and pulls with a dry cloth, avoiding polish and abrasive pads
• Clear debris from the drawer glides and the keyboard drawer track so both keep running smoothly
• Keep the desk away from radiators, heat vents and long hours of direct sunlight
• Close all drawers and disconnect the power before repositioning the desk
