A 4-Seater Sofa That Comes Apart

The Aven 4-seater sofa is sized for the long wall of a great room, where four people want to sit side by side. Two arm modules close the ends, two narrower armless modules fill the middle, and webbing straps buckle all four together over an anti-slip base, leaving more than ten feet of seat between the arms. Because every module is a complete seat with its own backrest, the row also comes apart. Buckle the two arm modules together and they form the Aven loveseat, then set the two middle modules across from it as a pair of armless chairs. Every piece is 32D foam with no wood frame inside, covered in textured velvet stitched into rounded tufted sections, and the seat is deep and low with a backrest that leans away.

Care Instructions

• Velvet looks lighter or darker depending on the viewing angle, and this shading is normal for velvet, not a defect
• Color may look slightly different from the photos depending on room lighting
• Sitting, pressing or brushing against the velvet shifts the pile and leaves shaded marks, which brush back out with a soft clothes brush stroked in one direction
• Allow up to 72 hours after unboxing for all four modules to expand to full shape, patting the surfaces by hand to help them along
• Vacuum weekly with a soft brush attachment, working in the direction of the pile
• Spot clean with a damp cloth and a mild upholstery cleaner, testing a hidden area first
• Blot spills with a dry cloth right away instead of rubbing them into the pile
• Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight to limit fading of the velvet
• Avoid abrasive sponges, bleach and ammonia-based cleaners
• Check the straps under the modules every few months and re-buckle them if the row has drifted apart
• The silicone grip pads under the base hold best on a rug; on a bare hard floor, place the sofa on a rug if the modules start to shift
• Swap the two arm modules end for end, and the two middle modules with each other, now and then so all four seats wear evenly
• Lift modules from the base instead of dragging them when moving
