Meet Steffen - The Cushion Goes on Top

Most upholstered chairs build the padding into the frame, and the seat you see is the seat you get. The Steffen dining chairs stack it instead: a thick pillow cushion rests over the seat pan and overhangs it on every side, leaving the lower layer visible as a second band running underneath, so the seat reads as two pieces rather than one. The back above divides into three padded channels with a rolled edge closing the top, and below it a black steel sled loops forward at the floor and rises to the frame at four points. Channel stitched dining chairs, distressed faux leather chairs with metal legs, armless dining chairs set of 2, industrial dining room chairs. Best for breakfast corners, bedroom seating, and rooms where two chairs work as often away from the table as at it.

Distressed Leather Grain
1.

Distressed Leather Grain

The surface carries a mottled finish worked light across the open faces and drawn darker into every fold and seam, so the pattern falls differently on each chair the way worn leather ages unevenly.

Pillow Top Cushion

The cushion rests over the seat pan and overhangs it on every side, so a second band of upholstery stays visible underneath, and the whole seat reads as one piece stacked on another rather than a single built-in pad.

Steel Sled Base

Steel Sled Base

One length of black tube loops forward where it meets the floor and rises to the frame at four points, holding the seat clear with nothing crossing beneath and each contact point closed off with a glide.

Three-Channel Back

Three-Channel Back

Two seams divide the backrest into three horizontal bands, each padded enough to stand proud of the stitch line between them, so the back holds shadow along the seams and reads as segments from across the room.
